January Events & Activities: Making the Most of Winter!
It's easy to hibernate during the winter, but we wanted to help you make the most of your start to the new year. Based on our team's list of new year's resolutions which include getting active, learning something new, being more creative, spending more time outdoors, having more fun and drinking more whiskey we have put together a little list of local activities and events that check all of the boxes. We hope we've found something that interests you! Enjoy!
GUIDED NIGHT SNOWSHOE HIKE
SCENIC CAVES NORDIC CENTRE
Snowshoeing is such great exercise. What better way to spend an evening than enjoying the winter wonderland? Little chance of getting cold while you get a low-intensity workout in a stunning setting. Strap on your snowshoes for a night-time hike, where stars & shadows create a dramatic setting for adventure. Experienced guides lead your group on a 1 ½ to 2 hour romp through an enchanting winter wonderland.
Skate Through the Forest
WOODVIEW MOUNTAINTOP SKATING PATH
Whether you strap on your skis during the day or under the stars, this beautiful ice path through the forest is sure to leave you loving Ontario's wintery weather. The 1.1 km path is located at the top of Southern Comfort and features a wooded skate trail that leads to a vista overlooking the Southern Georgian Bay. A small food and beverage facility is also available at the top of the mountain offering gourmet hotdogs and hot drinks.
Collingwood Winter Market
Trinity United Church | Saturdays 10am - 1pm Jan 12 to Mar
Here in the land of apples and bountiful farmland there is no need to go into farmer's market withdrawal during the chillier months! Browse Collingwood's winter market where all vendors are local food producers, farmers, and a few skincare product makers who grow a lot of their ingredients. Enjoy time outdoors and get your weekly produce shopping shopping done.
Imaginarium Adventures In Art
BLUE MOUNTAIN FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS | Jan 15 - March 5 3:30pm - 5:30pm
This is a great one for those of you who want to try something new or get your creative juices flowing. Also great for kids after school when the weather is just a bit too cold to enjoy. Get creative & have some fun. As much as we love the outdoors, it's also wonderful to stay warm and cozy with crafts during the winter months. Explore all-new creative activities at this year's Adventures in Art.
The Dam Pub | Tuesday January 15, 8pm
Warm up with whiskey specialist, Stephanie for a trip through her wonderful world of whiskey. Enjoy 3 nips, distillery tips and a chocolate pairing. The Dam Pub is such a great place to spend time during the winter, the warmth of the setting ... and the whiskey does the body wonders. Maybe a great place to stop after a day on the slopes skiing or a few laps around a forested skating track!
Tribute Concert: Practically Hip

Who doesn't love live music? Have fun at the Marsh with a tribute to the Tragically Hip at one of our favourite local venues. Check out their website for more upcoming concerts & events.
Martin Luther King Ski Weekend
Blue Mountain | Tuesday January 18-20
A great reason to get the entire family out on the hill or just to the village. The Blue Mountain Village knows how to entertain people of all ages. The 23rd annual Martin Luther King Ski weekend returns to Blue Mountain Village with on and off-hill celebrations, themed activities, comedy shows and après ski parties.
